Making at Maker Heights: Fabric, Fluidity & Performance Art
A 3-day residential project, with a focus on exploring the relationship/s between performance art, land/seascape, textile, and the body. Artist researchers taking part include (in alphabetical order:) Dr. Davina Kirkpatrick, Rochyne Delaney McNulty, Shelley Owen, Natalie Raven, Dagmar Schwitzgebel and Carly Seller with host & photographer Beth Emily Richards
The workshop facilitated time/space for creative experimentation and experience to unfold, with invitation to explore mutuality and collaborative approaches to performance making. The intensity of the residential workshop whereby participants work/perform, eat, and sleep in close proximity ensures that relational elements in the choreographic process are consciously brought to the fore. It allows participants to respond to time/duration, day/twi/light and the visual change of land/seascape in the aesthetic production, delivery, and documentation of performance incorporating bodies and textiles.
